The e-Stewards Standard was created by e-Stewards International in 2009 and is a globally accredited, independently audited certification for electronics recyclers that calls for:
- Secure data. Sensitive information must be removed from all devices.
- Global Compliance. Compliance with all laws in all jurisdictions is required, including international trade treaties.
- Ethical Labor. No child, coerced, or prison labor is permitted.
- Safe Exports. Exports of toxic e-waste to developing countries are not allowed.
You can demonstrate your commitment to environmental safety and social justice when you use certified e-Stewards recyclers or become an e-Stewards Enterprise.
